If you are a trader and you have tried to find a forex trading system that might work for you and have curiously looked up the words forex trading system in Google, havent you been surprised and annoyed at the amount of rubbish and useless material on this subject out there? I know I have.

It seems everybody is a forex expert these days. Or a Internet Marketer? difficult to decide.

If you are genuine in your quest to make money currency trading, you cannot trade without a system or without a plan. It is true that these systems are important and valuable. As a retail trader you are competing against institutions with armies of risk analysts, risk managers, portfolio supervisors - all contributing to their efforts and their profits. You as an individual you do not have this luxury, so you must be professional about your approach.

So how do you differentiate between good online forex trading systems and poor ones? I have selected 6 criteria to sort out the quality from the rubbish. If you are a forex trader or a beginner looking to buy an online forex trading system, make sure that it has all of these attributes.

1. Choose a forex trading system which is suited to the individual: either risk profile or trading style. Some traders are swing traders others day traders

for example. Make sure that the system can cater for both styles.

2. Choose a trading system which has a strong focus on money management and risk management techniques. Money management is the golden rule of successful traders.

3. Choose a system which is promoted by professionals with proven years of trading experience. Don't buy anything off anyone!

4. Choose forex trading systems which are simple, easy to understand and based on sound logic. Only these will force you into discipline when it comes to implementation.

5. Choose a system which will ultimately give you the tools to develop skills and your own online forex trading system and strategy that works for You!

6. Lastly choose a system which is value for your hard earned money dont pay anything over $US150. You will find a good forex trading system with all these qualities for $150 or less if you choose wisely.

reasons to trade forex

While Forex trading is becoming more popular in the United States, the vast majority of investors still do not understand the massive advantages offered in the foreign currency market when compared to equities or fixed income trading. When you fully grasp the following concepts, you'll understand why you might want to reconsider your current investment strategies.

1. Currency prices are not heavily influenced by institutional investors. In stock trading, there is a limited amount of volume on a daily basis. Each stock has a specific number of shares on the open market and trade prices are governed by the number of people attempting to buy or sell shares at a specific point in time. This makes the market vulnerable to price swings when a large investor is attempting to buy up or unload large amounts of shares. For example, if some pension fund owns 10% of a company and suddenly decides to liquidate their position, the market is now flooded with sell orders. Since the amount of shares attempting to be sold will outnumber the amount of buy orders, the price of the stock will start to drop as the number of buyers days up. This creates losses for the remaining shareholders. On the other hand, the forex market is so massive and has so many investors that no single investor can possibly have a major impact on pricing. There are too many units of Euros, Dollars, Yen, etc for any single institution to hold even close to a controlling interest in any currency.

2. Margin requirements are significantly lower in forex trading than equity trading. While the exact amount of margin allowed is determined by each broker, the restrictions are usually much less stringent when trading forex. Margin allows the investor to "play with house money." In essence, you're borrowing money from the broker to invest in your own account. While this can be risky, it can also be insanely profitable. For example, let's say you have $10,000 of your own money to invest. If you open up a margin account at an equity broker, you can usually margin up to 50% of the value of stock. So if you buy $10,000 in Microsoft stock, you can borrow another $5,000 to own a total of $15,000 in value. With your forex account, the margin requirement is often as low as 1%. Which means that if you buy $10,000 in Euros, you can use your broker's money to buy another $1,000,000. So you now own over $1 million in Euros. Now lets say that the value of each investment increases 10%. Your $15,000 in Microsoft stock is now worth $16,500. You sell it, pay back the $5,000 you borrowed, and you pocket $1,500 in profit (minus any fees or interest). Your return on investment is 15%. If your Euros went up 10%, your $1 million is now worth $1.1 million. After selling and repaying your broker, you profit $100,000 before any interest. That's a return on investment of over 1,000%. Of course, you need to be extra careful when trading on margin. Imagine if the transaction went the other way. You'd be in a much bigger hole in the forex scenario. But the potential for enormous gain is there and is one of the major reasons why forex trading is so attractive to serious investors.

3. Forex trading is open 24 hours a day. Unlike the U.S. stock markets, you can trade forex any time of day from Monday through Friday. If a major news story breaks when you're holding stock, and it's after hours, you're stuck holding onto your position until the market opens the next day. By the time this happens, everyone else knows the news and there's thousands of buy/sell orders waiting when the opening bell rings. This will dramatically influence your trade price and negate any advantage you might have had by being one of the first to react. Keep in mind that many corporations withhold major news such as earnings reports and personnel moves until after the market closes. They do this to minimize emotional trading, which is smart for them to do but also hurts savvy investors. Since Forex trading is open 24 hours, you can place your trade order whenever major events occur.

4. The foreign exchange market is more liquid than the equity market. Forex is the largest market in the world. Every day, an average of $1.4 trillion dollars is traded, and the amount of securities (foreign currencies) is minuscule when compared to the number of companies traded in the equities market. This means that there are always buyers to be matched with sellers, which means that you'll have a much better chance to get a fair and accurate price on your trade than if you were trading a low volume stock where the bid and ask spreads can be very large.

5. Forex trading offers the advantage of limited risk. This is one of the large advantages over the futures market. When you buy a futures contract, you are obligated to buy or sell a specific amount of a specific commodity at a specific time for a specific price. Which means that if disaster hits, you're out of luck. For example, lets say you buy a futures contract to sell corn. If news breaks that reports an outbreak of deaths caused by a pesticide used in corn crops, the price on your contracts will drop through the floor, limits will drop, and you could be stuck in your position and end up taking massive losses. This would not happen in the forex market since you can leave your position at any time.

Courage Under Stressful Conditions When the Outcome is Uncertain

by Jimmy Young of EURUSDTrader

All the foreign exchange trading knowledge in the world is not going to help, unless you have the nerve to buy and sell currencies and put your money at risk. As with the lottery “You gotta be in it to win it”. Trust me when I say that the simple task of hitting the buy or sell key is extremely difficult to do when your own real money is put at risk.

You will feel anxiety, even fear. Here lies the moment of truth. Do you have the courage to be afraid and act anyway? When a fireman runs into a burning building I assume he is afraid but he does it anyway and achieves the desired result. Unless you can overcome or accept your fear and do it anyway, you will not be a successful forex trader.

However, once you learn to control your fear, it gets easier and easier and in time there is no fear. The opposite reaction can become an issue – you’re overconfident and not focused enough on the risk you're taking.

Start by analyzing yourself. Are you the type of person that can control their emotions and flawlessly execute trades, oftentimes under extremely stressful conditions? Are you the type of person who’s overconfident and prone to take more risk than they should? Before your first real trade you need to look inside yourself and get the answers. We believe we can help you correct deficiencies before they result in paralysis (not pulling the trigger) or a huge loss (overconfidence). A huge loss can prematurely end your trading career, or prolong your success until you can raise additional capital.

Both the inability to initiate a trade, or close a losing trade can create serious psychological issues for a trader going forward. By calling attention to these potential stumbling blocks beforehand, you can properly prepare prior to your first real trade and develop good trading habits from day one.

The difficulty doesn’t end with “pulling the trigger”. In fact what comes next is equally or perhaps more difficult. Once you are in the trade the next hurdle is staying in the trade. When trading foreign exchange you exit the trade as soon as possible after entry when it is not working. Most people who have been successful in non-trading ventures find this concept difficult to implement.

For example, real estate tycoons make their fortune riding out the bad times and selling during the boom periods. The problem with trying to adapt a 'hold on until it comes back' strategy in foreign exchange is that most of the time the currencies are in long-term persistent, directional trends and your equity will be wiped out before the currency comes back.

The other side of the coin is staying in a trade that is working. The most common pitfall is closing out a winning position without a valid reason. Once again, fear is the culprit. Your subconscious demons will be scaring you non-stop with questions like “what if news comes out and you wind up with a loss”. The reality is if news comes out in a currency that is going up, the news has a higher probability of being positive than negative (more on why that is so in a later article).

So your fear is just a baseless annoyance. Don’t try and fight the fear. Accept it. Have a laugh about it and then move on to the task at hand, which is determining an exit strategy based on actual price movement. As Garth says in Waynesworld “Live in the now man”. Worrying about what could be is irrational. Studying your chart and determining an objective exit point is reality based and rational.

Another common pitfall is closing a winning position because you are bored with it; its not moving. In Football, after a star running back breaks free for a 50-yard gain, he comes out of the game temporarily for a breather. When he reenters the game he is a serious threat to gain more yards – this is indisputable. So when your position takes a breather after a winning move, the next likely event is further gains – so why close it?

If you can be courageous under fire and strategically patient, foreign exchange trading may be for you. If you’re a natural gunslinger and reckless you will need to tone your act down a notch or two and we can help you make the necessary adjustments. If putting your money at risk makes you a nervous wreck its because you lack the knowledge base to be confident in your decision making.

Patience to Gain Knowledge through Study and Focus

Many new traders believe all you need to profitably trade foreign currencies are charts, technical indicators and a small bankroll. Most of them blow up (lose all their money) within a few weeks or months; some are initially successful and it takes as long as a year before they blow up. A tiny minority with good money management skills, patience, and a market niche go on to be successful traders. Armed with charts, technical indicators, and a small bankroll, the chance of succeeding is probably 500 to 1. It's also good to know how currencies relate to each other. There are tools like the universal currency converter that make it easy to do this for you.

To increase your chances of success to near certainty requires knowledge; acquiring knowledge takes hard work, study, dedication and focus. Compile your knowledge base without taking any shortcuts, thereby assuring a solid foundation to build upon

top forex trading system

There really isn't one best Forex trading system that works for everyone. There are many great Forex trading strategies and Forex trading systems but to say there's only one, would not be true.

Each Forex trading system can be as individual as the person using it. One currency exchange trader will find a trading system that works perfectly for them and another Forex trader won't think it's worth the paper it's printed on. If you know something about trading in the Forex market, you know there are certain times of the day your should trade specific currency pairs to increase your odds of making winning trades. Trading off-hours, using the best Forex trading system could be the difference between winning and losing. Try to stay out of the market during the slow times as well.

Experienced Forex traders know the best times to trade in the Forex market. The best times are between the hours of 2AM and 11AM EST. At 2AM EST the European markets are just starting to open and at 3AM EST the London session starts to begin. At 7AM to 8AM EST the New York session start to come alive. At 8:30AM EST there are many news releases (mostly US ones) that can cause market to move. This is when price can move in a big way. These are the times most Forex trader love and this is where the money is made, and lost. The London session starts to close around 11:00am EST and the Forex market tends to slow down until the Asian market start up again around 7PM EST. Then everything starts all over again for the next day. That's why a good Forex trading system is so important to a Forex trader.

To make the most of a Forex trading system, you need one Forex trading strategy for trading at news times and another one to trade for the other times. A good trading strategy for trading the news is to do your homework beforehand. Know what the key news releases are for the day and find out what the consensus numbers are for each news report. There are many Forex news web sites, so I suggest looking at no less than 3 news sites to make sure the consensus numbers are close to each other. Sometimes Forex news websites get the wrong numbers, so doing your homework early, you will easily know if the consensus numbers are on the mark or not. At news release time, what you are looking for are the numbers with a shock value. Numbers that do not meet expectations but exceed or fall shot of the expected numbers. These are the news events to trade. You want to know beforehand what these shock value numbers are, and take action when they get released.

When news is out of the way for the day or it's a very slow news day, that's when you must have a Forex technical trading system. Forex technical trading is when you use forex charts and price action. Forex chart patterns, trendlines (trendline analysis), Fibonacci (Fibonacci numbers/Fibonacci studies) and a many other Forex trading tools can be used for analysis. Just remember to keep it simple. Do not go crazy with the number of tools you decide to use. I recommend picking two or three and work with them at all times. Give each one at least a months time to decide if it's working for you before you move on to another one. Some folks may find they don't like using Fib retracements for example, while other traders like myself, couldn't imagine trading Forex without them. All Forex traders are different so you need to find the best tools and Forex trading systems that work best for you.

There are lots of fantastic online Forex training web sites available to you today and most are free. You should read all you can about Foreign currency trading before jumping in to it. Forex trading is a great business and like any new profession, it takes a lot of time to learn and do it right. Just take your time and remember to get the best Forex trading system that works for you and stay with it.

forex training tips

Should new Forex traders take Forex trading courses or join a Forex training program? Definitely yes; by now you have probably heard that only 5% of traders achieve consistent profitable results when trading the Forex market. The main reason for this is the lack of education. Don’t get me wrong here, taking a Forex training program or a Forex trading course won’t guarantee profitable results, nothing can, but choosing the right Forex training program or Forex trading course will definitely put the odds in your favor.

Before spending any amount of money on any Forex trading course or Forex training program there are some important aspects you need to take in consideration. There are many training programs available, but not every one of them suits the needs of every trader.

The first thing you should be looking in a Forex training program is the content of the material. Unfortunately, most courses or training programs focus or spend most of the time on basic concepts. Though these basic concepts are important, spending most of the course on them won’t help the trader to make consistent results.

The following subjects are what I consider the most important aspects of trading and every training program or trading course should address:

Forex trading basics. Review basic concepts such as: margin, type of orders, a little background, bid/ask, rollover, etc. You need to make sure you understand every single concept to perfection.

Main drawbacks of Forex traders. Being aware of the common mistakes made by Forex traders and knowing how to handle them will prevent new traders from making those mistakes.

Technical and fundamental analysis. These are the two main approaches adopted by Forex traders. Knowing how to properly apply each concept will definitely put the odds in your favor.

The three pillars of Forex trading. I consider that these three subjects have the most impact on every trader trading account.

Forex trading system development. Having the right system is a must if you want to have consistent profitable results. Having a system that doesn’t fit you will cause a series of problems that will make your trading account vanish away (second guessing the system, not following your system, etc.)

Money management. This is considered by many successful traders to be the most important single aspect of trading. Money management helps to increase your profits geometrically and at the same time limit your losses (i.e. a good risk reward ratio of about 2:1 will make you money in a Forex trading system that is right only 38% of the time.)

Trading psychology. Being aware and knowing hot to handle the psychological barriers that affect every trader decision will put the odds in your favor.

Other important aspects every training program should include are: Developing habits for success (such as discipline patience, taking responsibility of every action, commitment, etc.,) understanding and taking our trading as a business, risk and trade management.

forex quotes

We know that the FX market is the largest in the world and that your broker or institution that you are trading with is collecting quotes from a centralized feed or individual quotes comprising of interbank rates.

So how are these forex quotes made up? Well, as we previously mentioned currencies are traded in pairs and are each assigned a symbol. For the Japanese Yen it is JPY, for the Pounds Sterling it is GBP, for Euro it is EUR and for the Swiss Frank it is CHF. So, EUR/USD would be Euro-Dollar pair. GBP/USD would be pounds Sterling-Dollar pair and USD/CHF would be Dollar-Swiss Franc pair and so on.

You will always see the USD quoted first with few exceptions such as Pounds Sterling, Euro Dollar, Australia Dollar and New Zealand Dollar. The first currency quoted is called the base currency.

When you see forex quotes you will actually see two numbers. The first number is called the bid and the second number is called the offer (sometimes called the ASK).

If we use the EUR/USD as an example you might see 0.9950/0.9955 the first number 0.9950 is the bid price and is the price traders are prepared to buy Euros against the USD Dollar. The second number 0.9955 is the offer price and is the price traders are prepared to sell the Euro against the US Dollar.

These quotes are sometimes abbreviated to the last two digits of the currency such as 50/55. Each broker has its own convention and some will quote the full number and others will show only the last two.

You will also notice that there is a difference between the bid and the offer price and that is called the spread. For the four major currencies the spread is normally 5 give or take a pip.

To carry on from the symbol conventions and using our previous EUR quote of 0.9950 bid, that means that 1 Euro = 0.9950 US Dollars. In another example if we used the USD/CAD 1.4500 that would mean that 1 US Dollar = 1.4500 Canadian Dollars.

The most common increment of currencies is the PIP.

Currencies in the FOREX market are traded on a price interest point (pip) system. Each currency pair has its own pip value.

Since we have a currency PAIR such as EUR/USD, we need a way to talk about its price value. Whenever you see a FOREX price quote, you will see something listed along the lines of the following:

USD/JPY: 112.46 - Seconds later - 112.51

The first part before the first dash refers to the bid price. In other words it's what you obtain in JPY when you sell USD. In example above, the bid price is 112.46. The second component, which comes after both dashes and usually occurs minutes or seconds later, is used to obtain the ask price, this is what you have to pay in JPY if you buy USD.

In this example, the ask price is 112.51. The difference between the bid and the ask price is called the spread. In the example above, the spread is .05 or 5 pips.

USD/JPY: 123.50

When you see a Forex currency pair price quote, like the one above, just remember that that last digit of the price (after the decimal point) is referred to as the pip. So if you see a quote (118.50) and then a qu.ote in one minute of (118.51), then you should automatically know that the price rose by 1 pip.

Similarly, if you see a price quote of 118.58 and then after 5 minutes it's 118.50, the price dropped by 8 pips. The pip is always the last decimal place of the currency price quote.

In the FOREX market your main objective is to capture as many profitable pips as possible!

In the "Majors", this would include USD/JPY, USD/CHF and USD/CAD. For these currencies and many others, quotes are expressed as a unit of $1 USD per the other currency quoted in the pair such as JPY.

In the example above, a quote of USD/JPY 123.50 means that one U.S. dollar is equal to 123.50 Japanese yen.

When the U.S. dollar is the base unit and a currency quote goes up, it means the dollar has appreciated (become stronger) in value and the other currency has deppreciated (become weaker). If the USD/JPY quote increases to 124.01, the dollar is now much stronger than the JPY because with that same $1 USD you will be able to buy more yen than you could earlier.

Of course there are exceptions to this rule and these are the British pound (GBP), the Australian dollar (AUD) and the Euro (EUR). In these cases, you might see a quote such as GBP/USD 1.4366, indicating that one British pound equals 1.4366 U.S. dollars. These currency pairs are like this because they are stronger than the USD in value.

With these three currency pairs, where the U.S. dollar is not the base rate, a rising quote means that the USD is weakening, because it now takes more U.S. dollars to equal one pound, euro or Australian dollar.

To sum up this point, if a currency quote goes up then it increases the value of the base currency. A lower quote means that the base currency is weakening.

There are some currency pairs that do not involve the U.S. dollar. These currencies are called cross currencies, but the idea is exactly the same. For example, a quote of GBP/JPY 210.95 signifies that one GBP is equal to 210.95 Japanese yen.

Nearly all the brokers you will deal with will work all this out for you. They may have slightly different conventions, but it is all done automatically. It is good however for you to know how they work it out. In the next section we will be discussing how these seemingly insignificant amounts can add up.

In summary, currency traders must become familiar also with the way currencies are quoted. The first currency in the pair is considered the base currency; and the second is the counter or quote currency. Most of the time, U.S. dollar is considered the base currency, and quotes are expressed in units of US$1 per counter currency (for example, USD/JPY or USD/CAD). The only exceptions to this convention are quotes in relation to the euro, the pound sterling and the Australian dollar - these three are quoted as dollars per foreign currency.

Forex quotes always include a bid and an ask price. The bid is the price at which the market maker is willing to buy the base currency in exchange for the counter currency. The ask price is the price at which the market maker is willing to sell the base currency in exchange for the counter currency. The difference between the bid and the ask prices is referred to as the spread.

The cost of establishing a position is determined by the spread, and prices are always quoted using five numbers (for example, 134.85), the final digit of which is referred to as a point or a pip

forex strategies

Wealth System Solutions is a company that researches companies with low-cost programs for trading the forex to see if they are profitable or not. The forex, or foreign currency exchange market, is the largest financial market in the world. In fact, the daily trading volume of the forex is now over two trillion dollars. The most recent program Wealth System Solutions has tested is the Forex-Kiss system.

Only banks and large institutions used to be allowed to trade the forex. Clients used to have to provide a million dollars to have their funds traded in this market and the managed account was charged 30% just to have it managed by a certified, professional trader. Some companies have made profits only because of their earnings in this, the world's largest financial market.

In the past decade, the small investor has been allowed to enter the forex market and brokers will allow a trader to enter the market with as little as $250. However, this is a dangerous practice for the trader, especially the forex currency trading beginner.

The low account is open to swings in the market and vulnerable to losses and the novice trader ends up losing his or her funds and not being able to trade. Large traders count on this and when there are winning trades in the market, there also have to be losing trades. Even so, an individual can safely open a mini forex account with as little as $1,000 and feel comfortable as a beginning trader.

95% of new traders lose their accounts. With proven, profitable and inexpensive systems, the forex trader can be part of the elite 5% who actually earn money in this lucrative market. The Forex-Kiss system is based on an automated system developed for trading the forex market using robots to trade using the Meta Trader 4 trading platform (a platform is the software where you make and manage your trades).

One of the nice aspects of trading a forex system is that forex brokers allow you to sign up for a free, practice trading account. They generally give you anywhere from $10,000 to $100,000 in "play money" enabling the trader to try a system and feel comfortable with it before they enter the market with real money in a live account.

In a recent, private conversation, an expert trader using the Forex-Kiss system let slip that the trader was earning 25% per week using that particular system. As Wealth System Solutions has tested this forex system, we cannot dispute these findings. A trader can indeed double their money monthly using this automated trading system.

In summary, the Forex-Kiss trading system is a recommended forex trading strategy because of its low cost, automation, and profitability. It was recently rated as the number one recommendation at Forex Money Online.

Speculation

Speculation

Controversy about currency speculators and their effect on currency devaluations and national economies recurs regularly. Nevertheless, many economists (e.g. Milton Friedman) have argued that speculators perform the important function of providing a market for hedgers and transferring risk from those people who don't wish to bear it, to those who do. Other economists (e.g. Joseph Stiglitz) however, may consider this argument to be based more on politics and a free market philosophy than on economics.

Large hedge funds and other well capitalized "position traders" are the main professional speculators.

Currency speculation is considered a highly suspect activity in many countries. While investment in traditional financial instruments like bonds or stocks often is considered to contribute positively to economic growth by providing capital, currency speculation does not, according to this view; it is simply gambling, that often interferes with economic policy. For example, in 1992, currency speculation forced the Central Bank of Sweden to raise interest rates for a few days to 150% per annum, and later to devalue the krona. Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad is one well known proponent of this view. He blamed the devaluation of the Malaysian ringgit in 1997 on George Soros and other speculators.

Gregory Millman reports on an opposing view, comparing speculators to "vigilantes" who simply help "enforce" international agreements and anticipate the effects of basic economic "laws" in order to profit.

In this view, countries may develop unsustainable financial bubbles or otherwise mishandle their national economies, and forex speculators only made the inevitable collapse happen sooner. A relatively quick collapse might even be preferable to continued economic mishandling. Mahathir Mohamad and other critics of speculation are viewed as trying to deflect the blame from themselves for having caused the unsustainable economic conditions.

investment firms

Investment management firms

Investment management firms (who typically manage large accounts on behalf of customers such as pension funds and endowments) use the foreign exchange market to facilitate transactions in foreign securities. For example, an investment manager with an international equity portfolio will need to buy and sell foreign currencies in the spot market in order to pay for purchases of foreign equities. Since the forex transactions are secondary to the actual investment decision, they are not seen as speculative or aimed at profit-maximization.

Some investment management firms also have more speculative specialist currency overlay operations, which manage clients' currency exposures with the aim of generating profits as well as limiting risk. Whilst the number of this type of specialist firms is quite small, many have a large value of assets under management (AUM), and hence can generate large trades.

Hedge funds

Hedge funds, such as George Soros's Quantum fund have gained a reputation for aggressive currency speculation since 1990. They control billions of dollars of equity and may borrow billions more, and thus may overwhelm intervention by central banks to support almost any currency, if the economic fundamentals are in the hedge funds' favor.

banks & companis in forex market

Banks

The interbank market caters for both the majority of commercial turnover and large amounts of speculative trading every day. A large bank may trade billions of dollars daily. Some of this trading is undertaken on behalf of customers, but much is conducted by proprietary desks, trading for the bank's own account.

Until recently, foreign exchange brokers did large amounts of business, facilitating interbank trading and matching anonymous counterparts for small fees. Today, however, much of this business has moved on to more efficient electronic systems, such as EBS (now owned by ICAP), Reuters Dealing 3000 Matching (D2), the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Bloomberg and TradeBook(R). The broker squawk box lets traders listen in on ongoing interbank trading and is heard in most trading rooms, but turnover is noticeably smaller than just a few years ago.

Commercial companies

An important part of this market comes from the financial activities of companies seeking foreign exchange to pay for goods or services. Commercial companies often trade fairly small amounts compared to those of banks or speculators, and their trades often have little short term impact on market rates. Nevertheless, trade flows are an important factor in the long-term direction of a currency's exchange rate. Some multinational companies can have an unpredictable impact when very large positions are covered due to exposures that are not widely known by other market participants.

Central banks

National central banks play an important role in the foreign exchange markets. They try to control the money supply, inflation, and/or interest rates and often have official or unofficial target rates for their currencies. They can use their often substantial foreign exchange reserves to stabilize the market. Milton Friedman argued that the best stabilization strategy would be for central banks to buy when the exchange rate is too low, and to sell when the rate is too high — that is, to trade for a profit based on their more precise information. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of central bank "stabilizing speculation" is doubtful because central banks do not go bankrupt if they make large losses, like other traders would, and there is no convincing evidence that they do make a profit trading.

The mere expectation or rumor of central bank intervention might be enough to stabilize a currency, but aggressive intervention might be used several times each year in countries with a dirty float currency regime. Central banks do not always achieve their objectives, however. The combined resources of the market can easily overwhelm any central bank. Several scenarios of this nature were seen in the 1992-93 ERM collapse, and in more recent times in Southeast Asia.

market size & liquidity

The foreign exchange (currency or forex or FX) market exists wherever one currency is traded for another. It is by far the largest market in the world, in terms of cash value traded, and includes trading between large banks, central banks, currency speculators, multinational corporations, governments, and other financial markets and institutions. The trade happening in the forex markets across the globe currently exceeds US$1.9 trillion/day (on average). Retail traders (individuals) are currently a very small part of this market and may only participate indirectly through brokers or banks.

Market size and liquidity

The foreign exchange market is unique because of:

* its trading volume,
* the extreme liquidity of the market,
* the large number of, and variety of, traders in the market,
* its geographical dispersion,
* its long trading hours - 24 hours a day (except on weekends).
* the variety of factors that affect exchange rates,

Build Wealth in Forex

Forex trading is done without commissions and thus proves to be a hugely attractive opportunity for investors dealing on a daily basis. concepts of EMA

There is a concept in forex trading and in trading in general that is used as an indicator by many forex traders. This widely used concept is that of the “moving average”. It’s used in the field of finance and specially with technical analysis. It belongs to a family of many similar statistical techniques widely used to analyze time series data.

You can calculate a moving average for any time series, but in our case we are mostly concerned about this average calculated over currency pair prices over time. As an averaged quantity, MA’s can bee seen as a smoothed representation of the current market activity and an indicator of the trend influencing the market behavior. Thus highlighting longer-term trends or cycles. The limit between short-term and long-term depends on the market you are observing, and the parameters of the moving average should be set accordingly.

There are three main types of moving averages. Simple moving average, Weighted moving average, and the Exponential moving average. They are all moving averages but differ on how time period are weighted for the final value of the indicator.

In the case of the Exponential Moving Average (EMA), which is also called Exponentially Weighted Moving Average (EWMA) sometimes, during the calculation the formula applies weighting factors which decrease exponentially. What this means is that more weight (importance) is given to the latest data.

From this definition we can conclude that an exponential moving average reacts faster to recent price changes than a simple moving average. The 12 and 26 day EMAs are the most popular short-term averages. And in general, the 50- and 200-day EMAs are used as signals of long-term trends.

Forex Markets Great Liquidity

Because today Forex brokers abound and are actively marketing the idea of currency speculation, it is having a profound effect on the foreign exchange planning of individuals, companies, and nations, better still, now I can trade Forex tax-free. If you are barely paying your bills you don't belong in the market. It takes at least two months worth of trading on the US market to equal the trades that are going on in the markets. But because of the markets great liquidity and 24-hour, continuous trading, dangerous trading gaps and limit moves are very improbable. The difference is, is that Forex trading is the trading of currencies, not stocks.

There is also the fact that brokers on the Forex market don't take commission, the profit from the bid/ask spread. The market lends itself very well to technical analysis. This makes auto transactions the best option for most if not all traders. Many major countries have Forex trading centers such as, Frankfurt, London, New York, Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Bombay to name a few. The goal behind a Forex trading strategy is to provide profit for the investor. Client history testimony should be present in any prospective broker and plentiful to indicate a solid background with trading.

Remember, it is important that you help yourself by getting a top notched Forex trading education. This Forex trading software offers the investor direct access to some of the tightest spreads, through a stable, standalone Forex trading platform, 24 hours a day. Any sort of analysis tool or analytical report on the behavior of the currency you are trading, giving you a trading signal will be worth its weight in gold.

The Forex markets can be tapped into online, over the phone or by contacting a broker in person. There are two things that the trader can do at home to watch out for an entry signal: look at charts or wait for news. Getting started as an Introducing Broker. Make sure that the Forex broker you choose to become an Introducing Broker for provides all the assistance you require to grow your new business.

Risky But the Best Trading Strategy

Forex trading can be a risky business, however you can reduce the risk by following the best trading strategy, and ensuring you know the right time to enter and exit the market. Usually, investors are speculating on daily currency fluctuations and this is a constant profit source; this business profit mechanism. If you have a friend or family member that is in the online Forex trading business, find out what program or system they use.

If you lose money early in your trading career it's extremely hard to gain it back; the ploy is not to go off half-cocked; study the Forex business before you start to trade. Forex trading is not a game: it's a business. Now, when I first learned about brokers I assumed that it would make business sense for the broker to be very concerned about the trader's long term success since they seem to make their money from the PIP spread that is charged on each of the customers' trades.

As the article is relative straightforward, you need to get more resources for trading if you want to get into the business. If you plan to trade Forex full time, you need to treat it like a job or a business, and not like a get rich quick scheme. As stated trading is the exchange of currencies for profit, and it offers unmatched potential for profitable trading in any market condition or stage of the business cycle.

Therefore, prepare yourself with Forex trading education so you have a better understanding before plunging into the business. A true 24-hour market, trading begins each day in Sydney, and advances around the globe as the business day begins in each financial center, first to Tokyo, London, and New York. Most of them refer that they are the team of professional financial investors who are experienced and talented in some kinds of businesses, the most mentioned are Forex (foreign exchange), which is always said to be the most profitable business nowadays, some invest in stocks, others in property.

things to note in forex market

There is an ideal mindset, character, and mental attitude that traders need to acquire. I say acquire because few people have the innate personality that makes this mindset natural. With respect to your trading, this involves being free of anxiety, fear, despair or regret. It also involves being able to remain calm, confident, focused and disciplined in the face of adverse trading outcomes.

Trade with a Disciplined Plan
The problem with many traders is that they take shopping more seriously than trading. The average shopper would not spend $500 without serious research and examination of the product he/she is about to purchase, yet the average trader would make a trade that could easily cost him/her $500 based on little more than a feeling or hunch. The plan must include stop and limit levels for the trade, as your analysis should encompass the expected downside as well as the expected upside. Be sure that you have a plan in place before you start to trade.

Good Execution Good Anticipation
Everybody knows that trading is a number game. I mean, our success is not depend on the outcome of the next trade, our success is depend on the overall profitability of many trades. So, while we are trading, whether the last trade we did was profitable or not is definitely not important. There is no point drawing conclusions on the outcome of just one?or even a few-trades.
We can only access our anticipation skills when we have made a reasonable number of trades and see the longer-term result of our action. It is so important that when we are trading, our goal should be focus on executing our trades with ruthless efficiency and to judge only that. If you consider the ways that you lose money trading, you will find that it is down to poor execution, rather than poor anticipation.

Cut Your Losses Early and Let Your Profits Run
This simple concept is one of the most difficult to implement and is the cause of most traders demise. Most traders violate their predetermined plan and take their profits before reaching their profit target because they feel uncomfortable sitting on a profitable position. These same people will easily sit on losing positions, allowing the market to move against them for hundreds of points in hopes that the market will come back.
In addition, traders who have had their stops hit a few times only to see the market go back in their favor once they are out, are quick to remove stops from their trading on the belief that this will always be the case. Stops are there to be hit, and to stop you from losing more then a predetermined amount. You simply allow your profits on the winners to run and make sure that your losses are minimal. What is it about cutting a loss that is so hard?

Do Not Over Trade
Do not bet on the farm. One of the most common mistakes that traders make is leveraging their account too high by trading much larger sizes than their account should prudently trade. Leverage is a double-edged sword. Just because one lot of currency only requires $1000 as a minimum margin deposit, it does not mean that a trader with $5000 in his account should be able to trade 5 lots.
One lot is $100,000 and should be treated as a $100,000 investment and not the $1000 put up as margin. Most traders analyze the charts correctly and place sensible trades, yet they tend to over leverage themselves. As a consequence of this, they are often forced to exit a position at the wrong time. A good rule of thumb is to never use more than 10% of your account at any given time.

Do Not Marry Your Trades
The reason trading with a plan is the #1 tip is because most objective analysis is done before the trade is executed. Once a trader is in a position he/she tends to analyze the market differently in the hopes that the market will move in a favorable direction rather than objectively looking at the changing factors that may have turned against your original analysis. This is especially true of losses. Traders with a losing position tend to marry their position, which causes them to disregard the fact that all signs point towards continued losses.
So should you before you trade. In order to start the trading day in the optimum state of mind you should take 15 to 20 minutes to prepare. Treat each day like an elite athlete prepares for a competition. Here is how to do this:
#Get yourself in a comfortable sitting position and close your eyes.
#Breathe in and out slowly, pushing your stomach out each time you breathe in.
#Consciously relax all your muscles.
#Focus your entire attention on your breathing.
#When your mind starts to wander (as it will) re-focus on your breathing so that you eliminate from your consciousness whatever your mind had started to think about?including bodily sensations.
#Become aware of being exclusively?in the present moment. Exclude memories or thoughts about past events, and worries or anticipation or planning about the future.
#Do this past the point of boredom, until your restless mind settles down and you enter a peaceful, relaxed state. This usually takes 15 to 20 minutes, but it can be longer for some people.
Good luck and happy trading!

buy\sell currency

Trading opportunities in the forex market deserve serious consideration as a diversification strategy for your portfolio.
While online equities and futures trading have enjoyed exponential growth and widespread notoriety over the past few years, online foreign exchange trading is only now gaining popularity among seasoned active traders, commodity trading advisors (CTAs), and other professional money managers.
Until recently, large international banks dominated the foreign exchange market, only allowing access via telephone trading to a select few such as Fortune 1000 companies, large funds, high-net worth individuals, and so on. But now, the tide has turned and finally there are established online trading firms that provide individual investors with direct access to the largest, most liquid financial market in the world.
In this market you may buy or sell currencies. The objective is to earn a profit from your position. Placing a trade in the foreign exchange market is simple: the mechanics of a trade are virtually identical to those found in other markets, so the transition for many traders is often seamless.
Currencies are quoted in pairs, such as EUR/USD or USD/JPY. The first listed currency is known as the base currency, while the second is called the counter or quote currency. The base currency is the "basis" for the buy or the sell.
For example, if you BUY EUR/USD you have bought euros (simultaneously sold dollars). You would do so in expectation that the euro will appreciate (go up) relative to the US dollar.

EUR/USD
In this example euro is the base currency and thus the "basis" for the buy/sell. If you believe that the US economy will continue to weaken and this will hurt the US dollar, you would execute a BUY EUR/USD order. By doing so you have bought euros in the expectation that they will appreciate versus the US dollar.
If you believe that the US economy is strong and the euro will weaken against the US dollar you would execute a SELL EUR/USD order. By doing so you have sold euros in the expectation that they will depreciate versus the US dollar.

GBP/USD
In this example the GBP is the base currency and thus the "basis" for the buy/sell. By doing so you have bought pounds in the expectation that they will appreciate versus the US dollar.
If you believe the British are going to adopt the euro and this will weaken pounds as they devalue their currency in anticipation of the merge, you would execute a SELL GBP/USD order. By doing so you have sold pounds in the expectation that they will depreciate against the US dollar.

USD/JPY
In this example the US dollar is the base currency and thus the "basis" for the buy/sell. If you think that the Japanese government is going to weaken the yen in order to help its export industry, you would execute a BUY USD/JPY order. By doing so you have bought U.S dollars in the expectation that they will appreciate versus the Japanese yen.
If you believe that Japanese investors are pulling money out of U.S. financial markets and repatriating funds back to Japan, and this will hurt the US dollar, you would execute a SELL USD/JPY order. By doing so you have sold U.S dollars in the expectation that they will depreciate against the Japanese yen.

USD/CHF
In this example the CHF is the base currency and thus the "basis" for the buy/sell. If you think the Swiss franc is overvalued, you would execute a BUY USD/CHF order. By doing so you have bought US dollars in the expectation that they will appreciate versus the Swiss Franc.
If you believe that due to instability in the Middle East and in U.S. financial markets the dollar will continue to weaken, you would execute a SELL USD/CHF order. By doing so you have sold US dollars in the expectation that they will depreciate against the Swiss franc

foreign exchange service

foreign exchange service
In
telecommunication, a foreign exchange service (FX) is a network-provided service in which a telephone in a given local area is connected, via a private line, to a central office in another, i.e., "foreign", exchange, rather than the local exchange area's central office.
To
call originators, it appears that the called party having the FX service is located in the foreign exchange area.
It has been suggested that this article be split into multiple articles accessible from a disambiguation page. (Discuss)
In
finance, a foreign exchange service provides clients with an on-line platform to trade currency, such as the U.S Dollar and the Euro. Clients may hedge against, or more likely speculate upon, changes in the exchange rate for different currencies.
The small "retail traders" who are likely to use these services are often the target of
forex scams. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, which loosely regulates many foreign exchange traders in the U.S., has warned of an increase in the number of these scams.

secrest behind forex trading

Many think that analyzing forex is hard and filled with mathematical concepts and many is willing to pay millions for market courses so they understand the technical analysis with graphics and so on. But we are confused by ourselves which frame will we choose, single minute, five minutes or daily.
If we think logically, clear, and ease we will see signals that actually exist but we can't see because there's indicators blur it. KISS = keep it simple stupid, is basic to be implemented everywhere.

To be successful in trading there's some principals to follow. When you're trading then you'll have to think as a trader, buy at low price and sell at high price is the number one rule. Whether you're playing stocks, commodities, or forex keep the basic traders' principals.
Trading forex lasts for 24 hours. If we're in Indonesia, the Australian market starts at 04:00 early in the morning, then the Japanese market at 14:30. Starts next is European market at 20:30 and the last one to open is the American market which will close at 04:30 the next morning.
Based on experience, time is very important to the outcome of the trade whether we will win or lose. Mostly the price is going steadily from the morning till afternoon Indonesia time. The ups and downs of the price start when the European market opens. Then when the American market sessions are open, we have a very good chance to gain big profits in short time only if we can position ourselves in a good position.
The way to determine the buy and sell position. Looking at the daily phenomena it is better for us to trade at American time. The first step is to count the price range (high and low) from currency pairs that day. There are four commons currency traded:
EUR/USD Daily range average : 110-120 points
GBP/USD Daily range average : 180-200 points
USD/CHF Daily range average : 120-130 points

USD/JPY Daily range average : 80-90 points

The numbers above is not fixed but at least when we enter the market we know that we're in the right position. Eventhough this won't guarantee a 100% win.
If we look at closely there's a certain pattern from those four pairs of currency that is Euro/USD and GBP/USD walks the line together and 180 degree from USD/JPY and USD/CHF. If Euro/USD and GBP/USD is going high than the USD/JPY and USD/CHF is going the other way, vice versa.
But things don't always go this way. There's a moment where a currency is on his own and the other at the usual pattern. If this happens than the curruency that is has a stable movement is on its lowest or at its top and the currency has a mature daily range (close to the currency's average daily range).
There's no certain rule that says a pair of currency is easier to trade than the other, every currency have their own chances, and it is better for us to adjust to our margin that we have. The Euro/USD and USD/JPY movement is far more stable at range of 100 points and this make the currency safer to be traded with the smallest of our margin compare to GBP/USD and USD/CHF which range in the 200 points.
From the phenomena above a conclusion can be taken, that money is traded by top-class speculators like George Soros only on four world main currency. This is to balance the daily volume and price so at the closing stage the currency will be at their average range of high and low.
The price movement can actually be determined by the movement of each currency pairs. Analysis approach fundamentally with watching close the news is reflected from the price movement. We can read schedule of economic news just to watch it for hours and only waiting for certain news. Close to those times there are possibilities of extreme price changes.

Knowing when ther's going to be an extreme price movement we can at least save times and we don't need a whole day to watch the price movements in the monitors, except it is a hobby and doesn't bother you that much.
In trading it is better if we adjust to the condition of the field that day. It is too risky if we try to predict that the price will be bullis or bearish at certain price level. Then we have to wait for the perfect moment to enter the market that is when the chance has come. The main key is to stay close to our trades.
Trading must be discipline, disciplne following systems and patterns that we have already set. Greed can cause a very fatal condition. Many failures started only by the simplest of mistakes. Miscalculations happened, and if those happens then we have to cut-loss or else we will beburden. Then think positive that there's always better times tomorrow.
You can enter without having to know graphics and charts. The basic in decision making is the highest and the lowest price range everyday. If the price moves to the highest price that day, wait, because the price will try to get through the highest price that day. Just look at the daily range. For Euro/USD, the daily range is 98 points when we enter the market, there's a possibility that it might pass 98 points that day then the price will decline again because there will be profit taking action.
If you are risk taker, you can make profit when there's a price correction and actually you will get two gains at a time that is when the price goes up for a moment for then goes for reversal. This can be done but beginners are adviced not to do this and everyone who hasn't a good experience about the market. You could try at the virtual forex first to understand the situation.
Don't forget to pay attention to the currency that is opposite to the one you are trading. Example in this case you hold Euro/USD, you have to pay attention to opposite currency such as USD/JPY. Because at the same time USD/JPY will try to touch the lowest point before at the end go for reversal.
With the usage of graphics, we can get very good informations. It is also better if we use some softwares for trading we could only watch the time frame for 5-15 minutes. The indicator that is used is Bollinger band and if you're not pretty sure you can add RSI indicator with 6 as it setting period. But back to basic, the important thing is the daily range of highs and lows. If there is break high and break low, you then go watch the candlestick and focus on the five-minute frame.
Many are trapped focusing on the graphics like the Ma lines has crossed or it hasn't and many more. Actually at this time, price range hasn't become mature yet, and of course makes things risky. Once again it is necessary to look at the mature price range.
The usage of pivot, support, and resistant point can also sharpen your decision. But once again the price range is all matter for decision making and you shouldn't be doubtful because of any other indicators. For example Euro/USD has gone through break high. Look at the five-minute chart than the candlestick will touch the upper bollinger band or even more. You can wait a bit more so it can get to the very top, then when you feel there's a reversal you can do your entry.
Price movement is very complex that affect four world main currency one another. This can't be explained in detail. Overbought and oversold aren't basically call upon the five-minute or the fifteen-minute frame. This signal will come to you as you practice, use your logic and amazing things will happen.
Trading is not a exact science so don't waste your money for courses that will guarantee your success.
The main key is practice. There are many source of informations such as newspapers, internet, and mailing lists. Tricks above doesn't promise you a profit but at least if you implement the logic you will the be on the right track. You will have the basic of decision-making.

basics of forex

Forex Market
Trading information for beginners

If you’re a new to the forex (foreign exchange) market, you probably have a lot of questions. Making money in a global currency market is an exciting prospect; you’re probably wondering how, and what you need to get started. A lot of information on the internet is geared toward the knowledgeable trader who has at least experienced the stock market. Not everyone has the benefit of Wall Street experience. We are here to help you out if you’re not all that stock savvy and don’t have a financial background.
So, what is foreign currency exchange?
The basic term, foreign currency exchange, is used to explain the exchange of one country’s currency for another’s. If you’ve every traveled out of the country, you probably cashed in your American dollars to find that the trade was nowhere near equal. Forex is the same thing on a much larger scale – it’s similar to the market except it deals in liquid assets at all times. It’s the process of buying and selling cash from nations around the world.

How can foreign currencies be traded?
Currency exchanges can be handled on three different levels. You will need to use a broker or a brokerage firm that allows trades through one of the following:

• The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) • Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)

There is also what is called the off-exchange (over-the-counter) market. An example of this would be that you return from your vacation from Canada and trade your cash in for American dollars. This is only on a retail level or corporate level. Off-exchange trading is subject to very limited regulatory oversight.

How much money do I need to trade Forex?
It depends on the Forex dealer. Brokers concentrated in the Forex market can set their own minimum accounts and are allowed to set their own fees and rate schedules. You’ll need to ask your dealer how much money it’s going to cost you initially.

Many dealers will require a security deposit (a “margin”) to cover future transaction fees. When you choose a broker, make sure that you look over the fees and schedules carefully before you deposit any money. It is important to understand your broker’s capabilities, as well, before handling any transactions through their firm.
These are just a few basic facts about the Forex market to get you started. Trading foreign currencies can be an exhilarating experience when you’ve begun making money, but it is important to get an education before you start out. This website has a wealth of information for the new Forex trader, including tips and strategies. Factors affecting currency trading

Although exchange rates are affected by many factors, in the end, currency prices are a result of supply and demand forces. The world's currency markets can be viewed as a huge melting pot: in a large and ever-changing mix of current events,
supply and demand factors are constantly shifting, and the price of one currency in relation to another shifts accordingly. No other market encompasses (and distills) as much of what is going on in the world at any given time as foreign exchange.
Supply and demand for any given currency, and thus its value, are not influenced by any single element, but rather by several. These elements generally fall into three categories:
economic factors, political conditions and market psychology.

Economic factors
These include economic policy, disseminated by government agencies and
central banks, economic conditions, generally revealed through economic reports, and other economic indicators.
Economic policy comprises government
fiscal policy (budget/spending practices) and monetary policy (the means by which a government's central bank influences the supply and "cost" of money, which is reflected by the level of interest rates).
Economic conditions include:
Government budget deficits or surpluses: The market usually reacts negatively to widening government
budget deficits, and positively to narrowing budget deficits. The impact is reflected in the value of a country's currency.
Balance of trade levels and trends: The trade flow between countries illustrates the demand for goods and services, which in turn indicates demand for a country's currency to conduct trade. Surpluses and deficits in trade of goods and services reflect the competitiveness of a nation's economy. For example,
trade deficits may have a negative impact on a nation's currency.
Inflation levels and trends: Typically, a currency will lose value if there is a high level of
inflation in the country or if inflation levels are perceived to be rising. This is because inflation erodes purchasing power, thus demand, for that particular currency.
Economic growth and health: Reports such as gross domestic product (
GDP), employment levels, retail sales, capacity utilization and others, detail the levels of a country's economic growth and health. Generally, the more healthy and robust a country's economy, the better its currency will perform, and the more demand for it there will be.
